I really wanted to point out the shot of her legs (and also previously of her tail) foreshortening could stand to be more 'rounded'. It's kind of glaring, perhaps because the anatomy on all the more straight-on shots are _so_ spot-on. :D;;

I'm wondering if maybe you were trying to go for water distortion, but if that's the case, there would need to be a lot more distortion to make it super-obvious.

That said, your story's damn good and I'm quite envious. ŠD;;;

Oh jeez man I know, I--I seriously suck at perspective, ahah. I should've tried to find some references for this, but yeah, I'll definitely work on it! O:
It's just such a damn hard thing to figure out augh, would you have any tips on it? I try to draw the boxes in perspective and stuff, but, but still... 9v9;;

The trick is not to think of body parts as purely boxes, but also as cylinders and spheres. I feel like you already know this based on your sketchdumps; s-sorry if I'm talking to you like you were in elementary school. :iconsweatdropplz:

I mean, like, if you look at her biker shorts, it would make a world of difference to roll the edges around her thighs more. And then just match the rolling line with the surface highlights / shading accordingly. Also, with the tail you can add some scales, dorsal or ventral spines or something to reinforce the form-changes in the shape.

Perspective means getting the roundnesses right, as well as things receding in the back. :nod:

Oh nonono, dude, I absolutely suck at perspective so any tips are totally appreciated! 8O Do you know of any really useful tutorials on working on perspective on the human body? I... I think I kind of get what you mean about the rounding, but... not totally sure? Kind of like, I need to push the perspective more because it's still kind of flat?? But yeah seriously no man, please explain to me moreeeeee D:>

And yeah, won't lie, I was having a really tough time with the second and third page, so I kinda wimped out of details on her mermaid's tail. My bad. :b

I honestly don't recall any good resources, though when all else fails, go to Rey Bustos' website as a starting off point. XD; I think he keeps various master works on hand for download.

I'll try to do some draw-overs of your panels to show you what I mean ...but later- when I'm not so poopin' tired... '-'

Well, here's kinda what I was thinking for those tub shots: [link]

I added the grid lines onto her mer-body to give you a better sense of how it's flexing in perspective. More or less the same principle with the human body.

haha, and yet again i'm dead tired atm. ŠP

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, thank you so much for this, thank you so much!! I get what you mean now--and I'll do my best to practice more at perspective! It's a challenging beast, but I'll keep at it! XO
Thanks so much for the redline man, super-useful!!

Now please go get some rest-!! D8>

There's some really great use of perspective on this page. I think it keeps the panels interesting. Because it's all happening in one room with two people that could potentially become uninteresting to look at. But because you shift the angle around and use some strong perspective it keeps it all vibrant and interesting. :nod:

Hahahah, if there was one thing our comic teacher bashed into our heads, it was to keep changing up the perspective of the shot, so we don't get repetitive. xD
