So uh, guess who learned today that dA's max filesize is 18000x10800?? Yeeeeeeeeeeeeah...
Anyway, a dump just for Tobias, because I obsess over him just had to draw him that much for assignments. God there is so much of "going from crap to slightly better" here, hahah. And just, uh, yeah... these're pretty old, from the start of the semester mostly, and I just--yeah. Pencils don't really get along with me. xD
Gosh, but it feels good to have a sketchbook again-! * v *
Ahhhhhhhhh, hahahaha, but, they're so rough and crappy, I just wanted to practice since I sucked so much~ xD But thankkkkks! I'll try to do more poses, I never draw enough bodies. I hate leeeeeeegggssssss >o<
No, some of these are really good! A few of the action poses in particular look very proportional and have a great sense of movement. I think the football ones are my favourites. xD
I actually think this is a really great assignment idea, especially the fullbodies. You can really get a sense for how the character moves... which provides really important cues for visual media. (I'm sure it's really tedious while you're doing it but I am seriously considering making myself do this for my characters.)
Ahaha, ah, thank you~ poses are SUCH a weakness for me, so I'm glad I got shoved into doing these assignments to really start working on them! I really wish I had the time/motivation to do this with all my characters, too--it really, REALLY helps you figure out so much more about their personality and appearance and I really need to do it, haha.
I definitely see improvement as they go, too-- the earlier ones look a bit off and the later ones look a lot more natural. And yeah, posture is definitely indicative of character. It's especially important in comics and animation when you have the character doing a lot of different things. I hope you do find the time to do this with other characters! C:
Ahhhhh, thanks~ Not sure about doing this with another character, ahahh;; Oh lordy that would take a-freakin'-forever... @v@;; this one nearly killed me as it was! I spent like, two hours a day on it five days a week for two weeks for the headshots... or something like that... @v@;;;;
haha... yeah, that is a lot of headshots xD;; I've tried to do those expression memes but I get tired of drawing heads before I even get close to finishing. I really want to make myself do the posing assignment though.
I suspect that you are still imposing very high standards on stuff like this. This is all about learning and practicing. You can't really be critical of that. You can maybe get annoyed that it didn't turn out as well as you wanted...but only a little. It's about progressing, not producing folio pieces.
so skilled you are

s-sir, yes, sir! I just, ahm, I guess I feel guilty about posting really rough work up here? >>;
